Data stored by DROPIO

DROPIO is designed to work without a user account. Device aliases, preferences, transfer history and the minimum metadata needed to manage received files are intended to remain on the device. Transfer history may include the date, direction, device alias, file name or type and result. DROPIO does not use this information to build a cloud history of your transfers.

File transfers and connection data

Where technically possible, file content travels directly between devices through an encrypted peer-to-peer or local-network connection. DROPIO servers are not intended to store transferred files. A temporary signalling service may process a session identifier, connection offers and answers, network candidates and short-lived technical status so that devices can connect. These session records are designed to expire automatically.

Some network conditions may require an encrypted relay service. In that case, encrypted traffic can pass through relay infrastructure without the file being stored there. Network providers necessarily process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver a connection.

Permissions

DROPIO requests access only when a related action needs it: camera access for scanning a QR code, photo or file access when you select content, local-network access when discovering nearby devices, and storage access when saving received files. Permissions can be withdrawn in device settings, although the related feature may stop working.

Advertising

DROPIO may show banner ads through Google AdMob to fund app development. Ads are permanently removed if you purchase the Remove ads option. Before requesting ads, the app presents the consent choices required in your region. Google and its advertising partners may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, technical device information, ad-interaction data and diagnostic data under their own policies. DROPIO does not send the content of transferred files, transferred text, URLs, file names or file hashes to AdMob.

In-app purchases

DROPIO plans to offer a one-time, non-consumable purchase that removes ads for life. Google Play or the App Store processes payment and provides the app with purchase status so it can be restored on devices using the same store account. DROPIO does not process payments or retain card information.

Diagnostics and analytics

DROPIO may use aggregated technical events and crash reports to understand connection success and correct errors. These systems are not intended to receive transferred content, file names, text, URLs, complete session secrets or file hashes. The final production configuration and any relevant providers will be described here before the service launches.

Retention and control

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in DROPIO or uninstall the app. Temporary signalling records expire automatically.
